Description
I came to the shelter as a stray, so my history is mostly a mystery. The medical team at the shelter noted that I was `amazing` for my intake exam & vaccines - I am very friendly and sweet!Insights from my adventure buddies and foster friends:Speckle had a fun adventure at Blackwood Farm Park! Pretty good on leash, he doesn't pull too much. He is both food and toy motivated. He was eager to play but equally happy to relax with a chew & take in the scenery!Speckle is a little bit goofy, and he obviously loves people. He's a strong boy and wants to be right in the action, so he may require some more basic training--just so it is easier to get his attention when out in the world. He isn't shy with humans, and he really likes to be pet. He'll lick you right in the face if he likes you! We went for a brief hike and sat at a picnic bench. He pulled quite a bit when we were near the road/highway. I think the sounds made him both curious and nervous. There were kids playing and screaming nearby, but that didn't bother him at all. He did try and jump in the front seat with me on the car ride, so be mindful of that when you drive. I had my partner ride in the back with him on the way back from the trail, and he settled down just fine. Speckle has resting-guard-dog face, but he is really a gentle, sweet, goofy, soul. He easily connects with people despite his unknown history as a stray. He's a fun dog to spend time with.
