***Gussie is currently located at our rescue in Georgia but also available for adoption in the New Jersey area. She will be transported to New Jersey and available for adoption at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes if not adopted prior to Sept 25. An application for Gussie's adoption should be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to register or login). Questions about Gussie and/or our adoption process should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the Rescue's number.*** In June 2026, We were asked to help a man who not only found a number of adult dogs left tied to trees in the woods, but also had a couple of litters of puppies from two female dogs that he had. One of those dogs was his personal dog, a Bully mix, that had eight puppies born on May 2.While we were able to find immediate help for a number of the dogs on his property, it wasn't until August, two months later, that this man finally surrendered five of the eight puppies to our rescue. We are in the process of trying to help this man get the remainder of his dogs spay and neutered.  Gussie definitely redefines the term "unconditional love"! Her very friendly, playful and affectionate personality will fill your home with lots of joy and smiles. She should do very well in a home with another dog and even children who know how to properly handle a young pup.  Prior to her adoption, Gussie will have received 2 of her 3 first year "puppy" vaccinations, been de-wormed on multiple occasions and started on her flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Her adopter must agree to having Gussie spay once she reaches 6 months old and provide verification of such to our rescue. Gussie will require all of her basic training.
