This petite Terrier mix was rescued from a shelter and has quickly proven himself to be a gentle, affectionate little dog who fits easily into family life.   The Morning Wake-Up Crew   Chipwich begins his day around 6:30–7:00 a.m. with a trip to the backyard. Once his business is complete, he makes the rounds to check whether the kids are awake. If they need a little encouragement, he may jump onto their beds and deliver a few face licks. Consider it Chipwich’s complimentary wake-up service!   Breakfast is served around 7:30 a.m., followed by a morning walk to the park at about 8:30. During the day, Chipwich is content relaxing in the family room or kitchen, preferably somewhere he can keep an eye on his people. His favorite outing comes around 5:00–6:00 p.m., when the whole family heads out for an evening walk together.   From his very first night in his foster home, Chipwich confidently jumped onto his foster parents’ bed and decided that was where he belonged. He has slept there every night since, falling asleep quickly and snoozing deeply until morning.   A Little Dog With a Lot of Love   Chipwich is friendly, affectionate, and always ready for a snuggle—especially if belly rubs are involved. When meeting someone new, he may offer a brief bark before approaching with a wagging tail and greeting them like a long-lost friend.   He particularly adores his foster mom and happily follows her from the bathroom to the laundry room to the kitchen, trotting up and down the stairs as many times as necessary to remain part of the action. He is happiest when he can be near his people, whether they are playing, cooking, relaxing, or simply moving from one room to another.   Chipwich lives with two active children, ages 11 and 15, and loves running around, fetching toys, and joining their games. His previous foster reported that he also got along well with her dog. He is playful and engaging but also knows how to settle down and enjoy a cozy afternoon at home.   Walks, Wildlife, and Curious Barks   Chipwich loves exploring the neighborhood and generally walks nicely without pulling. He does occasionally chew his leash and skip along the sidewalk, apparently believing every walk could use a little choreography.   Squirrels, deer, and other wildlife immediately capture his attention. He likes to stop, study them carefully, and then consider giving chase. When he spots another dog, he may offer his “curious bark” before trying to introduce himself with a nose sniff, play bow, or enthusiastic little hop. He is alert and observant, always listening for unfamiliar sounds and monitoring his surroundings like a tiny member of Paw Patrol.   Home Skills   Chipwich has done very well with housetraining and had only a few accidents when he first arrived. He has even learned to ring a dog doorbell with his nose when he needs to visit the backyard.   He can stay loose in the house when his family leaves and has not been destructive or had accidents. He may whimper if his foster mom has been gone for a while, just to make sure everyone knows he misses her.   Chipwich has a non-shedding coat that will require regular professional grooming. He handled his recent grooming appointment well, although he would like it formally noted that having his face trimmed was not his favorite part.   Chipwich’s Special Talents   Chipwich takes snack security very seriously. He enjoys hiding treats between couch cushions or underneath the bed—and somehow remembers exactly where he placed each one when he is ready to retrieve it later.   He has also appointed himself the household fly catcher. He patiently watches his tiny airborne targets before launching himself into an impressive leap. His success rate currently stands at zero, but his commitment remains admirable.   Best of all is Chipwich’s signature welcome-home dance. His tail wags, his entire body wiggles, and his little frame curves to one side as though he is melting from happiness.   Chipwich would thrive with a loving family—especially one with kids—who will include him in walks, games, snuggles, and everyday adventures. Gentle, cheerful, playful, and wonderfully affectionate, this sweet little treat is ready to become the center of someone’s family.
