Meet Rex! Five-year-old Chihuahua mix Rex is a little guy who is still trying to figure out this whole new world around him. Rex came to us through a seizure case and sadly, he wasn't living in the best conditions. He arrived with three other dogs, and while he seems to be dog friendly, he is very nervous and unsure of new people and new experiences. A dog test will be required with any current dogs in the home. Rex may need a couple of meet-and-greets before he feels comfortable enough to show you who he really is. He is unsure about affection right now, and that's okay. He needs someone who understands that trust takes time and will allow him plenty of decompression time without asking too much of him too quickly. We're looking for a patient adopter who will give Rex the opportunity to learn what it means to simply be a dog — to explore, play, relax, receive some lovins, and discover that the world isn't as scary as he once thought. We are unsure how Rex feels about children, so the whole family will need to come to the meet-and-greet. We are also unsure about cats, and super slow, patient introductions would be best. Rex is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Rex doesn't need someone who expects him to come out of his shell immediately. He needs someone willing to sit beside that shell and patiently wait for him to realize he's safe. Once he does, we hope he'll discover just how wonderful life can be. Interested in adopting?
