MEET MAXIMUS — CAN YOU SAY HUGE HUNK OF LOVE?!  That pretty much describes Maximus perfectly! Maximus is approximately 3½–4 years old and one seriously BIG, handsome boy. He was a shelter favorite in California, but when no one came for him, he ended up on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, we were able to get him out at the last hour.  Maximus is past all those crazy puppy antics and is a pretty cool, calm and mellow guy.  Female-dog friendly  Has not yet been tested with male dogs  Not dog reactive  Does pretty well on a leash  Not a jumper  Mellow and easygoing  Learning that treats are actually pretty awesome! So far, cow ears and bully sticks have definitely won his approval.  Because Maximus is such a large boy, we think older kids would be the best fit. He doesn’t mean any harm, but one happy bump from this guy could send a little one flying! Maximus will also be getting his cherry eye surgery soon so he can be looking and feeling his very best. He’s simply a really nice, mature boy who would love a family to call his own. If you love the big guys, Maximus might just be your perfect huge hunk of love.
