Milo is a big, handsome 4-year-old orange tabby who knows exactly what he wants out of life: a little freedom, a little adventure, and a person to come home to. Milo has enjoyed the freedom to explore in his current home, but he's also made it very clear that he's a house cat at heart. Given the choice, he actually spends more of his time inside with his people than outdoors. He loves sleeping on the bed beside you—preferably with one paw touching you—rubbing against you for affection, getting his face and head scratched, and sitting in a window watching the world go by. He'll even “sit” for treats! That doesn't mean Milo has given up his adventurous side. He loves roaming and exploring the property during the day and is a capable, independent guy who enjoys having some freedom. What Milo seems to want is the best of both worlds: a loving indoor home and family of his own, with appropriate access to the outdoors to explore. His ideal home would be on a rural or semi-rural property where he can enjoy that lifestyle more safely. Milo is affectionate, playful, smart, feisty and definitely opinionated. He's also a cat who appreciates having some say in how he's handled. He can become defensive when he's frightened or uncomfortable and may nip or scratch if his boundaries aren't respected—especially if someone tries to physically move him when he's decided he's staying put! For that reason, Milo is looking for an adult-only home with an experienced cat person who understands feline body language and won't take his strong opinions personally. Once Milo knows and trusts you, he's incredibly loving and lovable. Milo has had mixed experiences with other cats and appears more comfortable with some than others, so any feline housemates would need to be considered carefully. He also had a difficult relationship with a dog in his previous home, so we'd want to be thoughtful about any other animals in his new home. Most of all, Milo needs someone who appreciates him for exactly who he is. He's not looking to give up his outdoor adventures, but he's also made it clear that he wants to be part of a family. He wants adventures during the day, a warm bed at night, and a person beside him so he can reach out one orange paw and make sure they're still there.
