Description

Hi! I’m Rhen. I’m a little Chiweenie with a big heart. I’m about 12 lbs right now, but I should be closer to 15lbs.  I really do love people, even calmer kids(7+), but I’m still learning that the world can be a safe place. New people, places, and sounds can feel like a LOT. However, if you’re patient with me, you’ll start to see the sweet boy underneath all that worry. I don’t always know what’s expected of me yet, but I’m learning! And every little brave thing I do feels like a pretty big accomplishment. I’m looking for a forever family who will be patient with me and help me keep building my confidence through lots of positive experiences. I might never be the dog who confidently runs into every new situation—and that’s okay. I just need someone who will notice the little victories… because to me, they’re HUGE. And once I decide I feel safe with you? Oh, buddy. I LOVE to snuggle. I’ll curl myself up into the tiniest little donut and happily soak up all the comfort I can get from being close to someone I trust. I’ve already come a long way, and I’m pretty sure there’s a whole lot more of me waiting to come out of my shell. I’m doing really well in my crate, I walk nicely on a leash, and I haven’t had any accidents. Look at me go! I’ve done well with other dogs, but I’m still learning how to feel comfortable around them, too. I can be a little unsure when another dog gets too close or into my space, so I need a doggy friend who understands that I sometimes need a little room. I think I’d do best with a calm, respectful dog who will let me take things at my own pace. Maybe, once I feel safe and confident, I’ll even discover that having a doggy friend can be pretty fun.  I may not be the bravest dog in the room yet, but I’m trying. And maybe what I really need is someone who understands that sometimes the smallest victories mean the most. Could that someone be you? Apply today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication
