Description
Introducing Monarch. This sweet boy has had quite the adventure before finding his way to rescue. He was found roaming the streets of Waukegan, where he spent much of his life looking after himself and navigating the great outdoors. After all those adventures, he is ready to hang up his worn-out traveling boots and trade them in for something much cozier: the soft life of a treasured house cat. The outdoor elements were not always kind to Monarch, and his ears have been severely damaged. But don't let that fool you; this handsome boy doesn't let his past slow him down. He is ready to leave his street days behind and find a safe, loving home where he can relax, feel secure, and be spoiled just as he deserves. Because he has spent so much of his life being independent and taking care of himself, he can be a little timid at first. But with time, patience, understanding, and love, he will show you the sweet and loving boy hiding beneath that cautious exterior. Once he feels safe, you'll discover that he is quite the affectionate gentleman. He absolutely adores headbutts and getting pets, and one of his favorite pastimes is curling up in the laps of his favorite people. He is ready for a new chapter filled with cozy naps, gentle affection, sunny spots, and all the love he has been waiting for. Could you be the furrever family this handsome adventurer has been searching for and so very deserving of? Monarch is FIV+ but in great health. In most cases, cats that eat well, stay healthy, and stress very little will end up living a good lifespan. He can live with other cats and is not contagious to them as long as they have no aggressive behaviors. Below is a link with more information on FIV: https://www.catcaresociety.org/fiv-in-cats-what-you-need-to-know/ Monarch would do well with other cats and children; he is timid with dogs.
