Description
Meet Dolly! This sweet little girl is around 9–10 months old, weighs approximately 18 pounds, and is a Rat Terrier mix with a little Dachshund possibly mixed in—just look at that adorable long body! Dolly is a beautiful short-coated girl with a mostly white coat and the cutest brown markings on her face and body.Dolly is the kind of pup you will fall in love with quickly. She absolutely loves being with her people and is happiest curled up on your lap, getting belly rubs, or nuzzling underneath your neck when she settles in for a nap. She is just as content relaxing in her own dog bed or crate and does well when left alone. She is comfortable hanging out in her crate while her foster is away and doesn’t make a fuss when left behind. One of Dolly’s cutest quirks is her love of collecting! She will gather her toys and proudly bring them all into her bed. She also loves hard bones and appropriate things to chew on. Like any young pup, she will need her family to puppy-proof the house and keep tempting little objects out of reach—she has been known to help herself to socks, paper towels, and other random treasures she finds on the floor! Dolly is a very happy, gentle girl with a soft mouth when taking treats and playing. She is not food aggressive and is submissive with other dogs. She has done wonderfully with her foster’s older dog and would love to play with him if he were willing! She can be a little timid when meeting dogs while out on walks, but she is never aggressive. She would likely enjoy having another friendly dog around to continue helping her build confidence.Dolly has not been around cats, so her compatibility with them is unknown. She also hasn’t lived with children, but because she is so gentle, has a soft mouth, and takes treats very nicely, her foster thinks she could be a wonderful family dog with respectful children. She is still working on her house training and will need a family who understands that she is young and still learning. She seems to be a very quick learner and is eager to figure things out. Her energy level is medium, making her a nice balance of playful and cuddly. When Dolly first arrived, new people, being outside, and unfamiliar environments made her nervous. But she is already making great progress! She will need a patient family willing to give her some time to continue building her confidence, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality really shines.Dolly is a gentle, affectionate, happy little pup who wants nothing more than to be close to her people. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will happily trade you cuddles, belly rubs, and a bed full of toys for a forever home, Dolly might just be your girl. Bcaaofnj.org
