UPDATE!!  MOMMA MAYBELLE & HER M&M’s HAVE SETTLED INTO FOSTER CARE!!  Poor things are so emaciated you can see every rib and it’s not because they won’t eat— they simply have been starved! The babies are so full of worms their bellies are as wide as their bodies are long! It’s truly pitiful. They definitely wouldn’t have lasted much longer in this condition! Treatment has started and we are passing LOTS of nasty worms but they are dead and coming out and that’s exactly what we want! We are hoping in 2 weeks when they can get second vaccines and dewormer they will be a healthy weight and condition for altering and will then be adoption ready!! Maybelle, Malcom,Melvin & Magnolia are spoken for at this time - Maxwell, Milton & Macon are available to be reserved with an approved app! Mom is purebred- dad is unknown- pups believed to be 75% or more Bassett but a guess - 12 weeks - 4 lbs - all males left!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $145 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
