Hey there, I’m Archie! I’m a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd / Coonhound mix, sporting handsome tricolor markings and sitting at an athletic 51 pounds. I won’t sugarcoat it: when I first landed here, the world felt way too loud and my whole body wouldn't stop shaking. But with a little patience and a lot of kindness, I found my footing—and my courage! I still take about sixty seconds to gauge a brand-new human, but once I see you're safe, I soften right into your hands. I adore kids, and I’m a huge fan of other dogs! When making new furry pals, I just do best meeting them nose-to-nose on a loose leash instead of through fences or gates. I walk nicely on a leash and was fully housebroken before coming here, so I just need a steady routine to pick right back up where I left off. One small detail from my hound roots: feathered friends are entirely too exciting for me, so I’m calling for a strictly chicken-free backyard! My vet paperwork is totally clean—I’m neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all shots, and tested negative across the board for heartworms and tick diseases.
