This puppy is one of 32 we rescued from Louisiana, where animal welfare protections are almost nonexistent. Puppies there are often born into neglect — chainedup mother dogs, dirt yards, no food, no vet care, and no one looking out for them. This silly boy recently broke his leg because he launched himself into the little puppies’ pen so he could play… and then got his leg caught when he tried to jump back out. Classic Jake. He’ll be wearing his splint for about four more weeks and is not yet available for adoption while he heals.Jake is a “go with the flow” kind of dog. Now that he needs to stay quiet and take it easy, he doesn’t complain one bit. He soaks up the attention, enjoys the extra snuggles, and keeps his happy attitude. Nothing gets him down.He’s a good boy with a sweet, easygoing personality. He is mostly potty trained and will hold it until he’s let outside. He loves people, loves being part of whatever is happening, and has the kind of spirit that makes you smile.Jake is healing beautifully and enjoying all the love. Once he’s medically cleared, he’ll be ready to find his forever home — and he will absolutely be worth the wait.All puppies are up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and will be spayed/neutered before adoption.A $40 refundable deposit is required once your application is approved to hold this dog or schedule a meetandgreet. This helps us respect the time and commitment of our foster families and volunteers. The deposit is applied to the adoption fee or fully refunded if you attend your appointment and decide not to adopt.Adoption Fee: $350ADOPTION CRITERIA  A fenced yard is required for safety. Condo applicants without fencing may be considered on a casebycase basis.
