Sookie (A142153) is a 11-month-old Pitbull mix who weighed over 60 pounds on intake! 09/12/26 Sweet little Sookie is back at the shelter due to no fault of her own! Her most recent owner had a schedule change at work that left them with less time at home, which they did not feel was fair to Sookie. Miss Sookie is quite the lovebug! She was said to even try befriending a moose! Sookie was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to know basic commands. If you need a perpetual source of positive in your life, please give the shelter a call and ask about Sookie!05/23/26 Miss Sookie is back at the shelter after a brief adoption due to the general chaos that is a 7-month-old puppy. Her most recent home had another young dog, and having two young dogs, one of which was still in the cone of shame from surgery, proved too chaotic for the humans. Sookie was said to have not had accidents in the home but did have one in the truck. She was also said to have gotten herself tangled up pretty good in the truck, so she may do best secured by seatbelt or kennel when traveling. She was initially very overwhelmed with the shelter setting, but warmed up quickly. It is important to keep the rule of 3s in mind when animals are acclimated to their new homes. Sookie has truly warmed up to the staff and has been a good girl! She does a decent job at keeping her kennel clean, but may need some reminders on potty training as she settles in. We also encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners and building her confidence. We do not know if she has experience with other animals or children. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions for a positive interaction!
