This 1 year-old Frenchie doesn’t want to simply live in your house, he wants to be actively involved in the daily operations of your household. And when we say involved, we mean… ALL UP IN YOUR BIZNESS OPENING THE REFRIGERATOR? Before that door is halfway open, Petey’s head is already inside. “What are we looking for?” “Did you check the second shelf?” “Is that cheese?” “Why are you closing the door? WE ARE NOT DONE HERE.” DOING LAUNDRY? Excuse you. That is now Petey’s Bizness. Dryer stopped? DO NOT reach inside until Petey has completed his inspection. Warm towels? Checked. Sheets? Checked. Random sock? Checked. Those little wool dryer balls hiding between everything? FOUND ’EM. Petey will retrieve every single one and proudly bring them back to you. You’re welcome. ️ DISHWASHER FINISHED? Lower that door and prepare yourself. You’d think the royal guards at Buckingham Palace were announcing his arrival. MAKE WAY! PETEY HAS BIZNESS TO ATTEND TO! Here he comes, front feet on the dishwasher door, ready to personally supervise the removal of every plate. “Hand me that bowl.” “I’ll inspect it.” “That one too.” “Actually, just give me everything.” Now, before you think Petey was raised by wolves, we should point out that the man DOES have manners. Put a treat in your hand and suddenly Mr. All-Up-In-Your-Bizness transforms into a perfect gentleman. He sits. He watches. He waits. He knows exactly what he’s supposed to do. Treat gone? BIZNESS RESUMES IMMEDIATELY. Petey is smart, hilarious, curious, affectionate, rambunctious and completely convinced that nothing should ever happen in his home without his direct involvement. But behind all of Petey’s silliness is a story that means a great deal to us. Petey came to 4 Lucky Dogs a couple of weeks ago after his very young dad tragically passed away. His dad loved Petey very much. We sometimes give our rescue dogs new names to represent their new beginnings, but Petey will remain Petey. His name is part of the life he shared with the dad who loved him, and we want to honor that. His family was unfortunately not in a position to provide the care Petey needed, so they trusted him to us. We promised to do right by him. And that means finding this crazy little Bizness manager the absolute bestest home. ❤️ Petey is recently neutered and is still learning potty manners. He figured out the doggie door incredibly quickly and has shown us that he is one smart little dude. There is, however, one lesson that has apparently proven considerably more difficult: FOUR FEET ON THE FLOOR. Petey: “Never heard of it.” Jumping up is currently part of his official greeting procedure. He gets excited. He loves people. He wants to be WITH you. Preferably touching you. Possibly standing on you. And most definitely all up in your Bizness. His new family will need to continue working with him on his jumping and helping him channel all that Frenchie enthusiasm. Because Petey can be a little wrecking ball of love, no small children for this guy. Petey can also be good with other dogs, although he is currently learning another important social lesson: Humping your friends repeatedly is not universally recognized as a gesture of affection. ‍♀️ Some dogs apparently have boundaries. Petey is shocked by this information. And Petey is approximately 40 pounds of personality stuffed into a Frenchie-sized body. Okay, maybe not literally 40 pounds…but that’s how much personality we’re dealing with. If you want a quiet little dog who sleeps in the corner and stays out of your way… THIS AIN’T HIM.
