Description
Meet Soup! At 16 years young, Soup has mastered the art of enjoying life’s simple pleasures: warm laps, cozy naps, gentle belly rubs, and being close to his favorite people. He’s the kind of little companion who just wants someone to love him and let him soak up every bit of affection.Soup has lived peacefully with both dogs and cats. He isn’t interested in making new furry friends and prefers that other animals respect his personal bubble. As long as his housemates aren’t constantly in his face, he’s perfectly happy sharing a home with them. You might be wondering about his adorable name. We call him Soup because his meals are made into a little “soup” to make eating easier! He’s missing several teeth, so mealtime is a cozy, slurpable affair.Like many senior dogs, Soup has a few medical needs. He’s on a kidney-friendly diet, has glaucoma in one eye, arthritis in his back legs, and his front legs are deformed. They’ve been that way for the past couple of years, but they don’t define him. He enjoys gentle leg massages and stretches, takes pain medication to stay comfortable, and still happily toddles around for short distances. That said, if you’re looking for a dog who thinks being carried around is the greatest invention ever, Soup is your guy.Soup isn’t searching for adventure. He’s searching for kindness. He wants a soft bed, a gentle hand, and someone who will treasure him through his golden years. In return, he’ll give you quiet companionship, unconditional love, and the special kind of gratitude that only a senior dog can.If you’ve been waiting for a tiny shadow to warm your lap and your heart, Soup is ready to meet you.
