Description
RangerRanger is a 9-month-old Terrier mix who is basically a big-hearted puppy looking for someone to show him that the world is a pretty great place. He is very sweet, very soft, and very shy. New situations can make him nervous, and loud noises and fireworks are especially scary for him. He needs a family who will give him some time, patience, and confidence-building while he figures things out.One thing Ranger is NOT shy about? Other dogs. He absolutely loves them. Heâs playful, social, and has no resource-guarding issues with his canine friends. Having another confident, friendly dog in the home could be a huge help in bringing him out of his shell.Ranger has lots of puppy energy and needs an active, stimulating home. Regular walks, a yard or property, and plenty of things to keep his busy little brain occupied would be ideal. And because Ranger is still a puppy, he occasionally makes questionable life choices.Left alone or bored, he may decide that drip irrigation is a fascinating new chew toy, that childrenâs toys belong to him, or that his own toys need to be completely disassembled. He needs appropriate outlets for his destructive tendencies â think cardboard boxes stuffed with paper and treats, puzzle toys, enrichment activities, and plenty of things he is actually allowed to destroy. He is house trained for the most part and is doing well for his age.Ranger has done well with kids both young and older. He can get mouthy when he plays, though, so supervision and appropriate boundaries are especially important with smaller children. His owners loved him but unfortunately could no longer afford to care for him. Now this wonderful boy is looking for a home that can give him the exercise, enrichment, companionship, and confidence-building he needs.Ranger may be a little nervous at first, but underneath that shy exterior is a sweet, goofy, energetic puppy who just needs someone to believe in him.Give him a good dog friend, a little patience, plenty of adventures, and enough cardboard boxes to keep him out of trouble â and Ranger is going to make someone one heck of a companion.
