* This dog will be at the Pet Food Express Pet Fair - San Jose North on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th from 10AM–3PM both days.  5148 Stevens Creek Blvd, San Jose All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption. Adoption fee: $800  Meet Dolly Parton! Meet Dolly Parton, a precious 6–7 year old Shih Tzu weighing just 7.5 pounds. Dolly came to DPS Rescue from a breeder along with four other dogs, and this sweet little girl is now discovering just how wonderful life can be when you have someone looking out for you. Dolly is an absolute sweetheart. Her foster describes her as very cuddly and incredibly sweet, and once she feels comfortable, she loves being close to her person. She doesn’t bark at everything, and she has a wonderfully calm personality. She is also the kind of little companion who would happily curl up beside you for a nap. When Dolly first arrived at her foster home, she needed a little time to figure things out. She has come a long way since then and is becoming more confident and comfortable every day. She is still a little bit of a “big girl” about new things, but her sweet personality shines through as she learns that she is safe. Dolly enjoys sleeping with her foster mom and loves being near her. She gets along well with the other dogs in the home and has even shown that she enjoys having canine company around. She has not shown aggression toward other animals and has been a sweet little member of the household. Her favorite activities are pretty simple: cuddling, relaxing, and enjoying some time outside. Dolly isn’t looking for an action-packed lifestyle. She would be perfectly happy with a family who enjoys the quieter things in life such as short walks, cozy naps, hanging out together, and plenty of love. When it comes to walks, Dolly does best with shorter adventures. She can go for a walk, but she isn’t interested in marching around the neighborhood for miles! A nice little stroll is much more her speed. Dolly is also crate trained, uses potty pads, and is continuing to work on her house manners. Like many dogs coming from a breeder situation, she may occasionally have an accident, so her forever family should be patient and continue helping her learn. One of the cutest things about Dolly? She doesn’t ask for much. She is a sweet, patient little girl who would love nothing more than a safe home where she can finally relax, be spoiled, and know she is loved. And honestly, with a name like Dolly Parton, she deserves nothing less than her own little piece of heaven. She may not be ready to perform on the Grand Ole Opry, but she is absolutely ready to steal the show in someone’s heart! Dolly has spent enough of her life waiting for someone to choose her. Now she is hoping for a forever family who will give her the patience, comfort, and unconditional love she deserves. If you’re looking for a tiny, sweet, cuddly companion who would rather be curled up beside you than running a marathon, Dolly Parton might just be your perfect girl.
