Animal Profile: Louie is an estimated 7-year-old, 65 lb neutered male Great Pyrenees Australian Cattle Dog mix who hails originally from Texas. Louie is a stunning boy with a coat that is just as soft as it looks, and the most adorable ears! He is a veritable porch dog who enjoys the company of his family and lounging around wherever his people are. Louie is house trained, crate trained, knows commands, and has no separation anxiety. True to his breeds, he is loyal and loving with his family but discerning of new people and animals. Louie gets along with other dogs off leash and -- with professional training -- now walks nicely on leash and listens to commands. Louie has lived with cats but does have some chase instinct on walks toward small animals so a dog-savvy cat and mindful introductions to cats in the home would be needed. Louie enjoys companionship, belly rubs and short walks -- his energy level is more Pyr than Cattle Dog and he will do OK with low to moderate exercise. Louie will do best with an owner who has strong leadership skills and an understanding of his breed mix to set him up for success.   Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Fenced yard required Older dog savvy children considered Other balanced dogs / dog-savvy cats OK Guardian breed experience preferred ​Adoption Info: Louie will be adopted in partnership with STIC K9 Collective, and his adoption will be on a one-month trial basis with a take home training session and 30-day training session included. Trial adoption includes a $250 deposit which is refundable if it is not a good match, provided training appointments are completed. Louie's total adoption fee of $400 includes his neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip with lifetime registration, and full training. He has also recently had a senior blood panel and health exam and is in excellent health. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Louie was placed in a poorly matched home and made his way to Dog Gone Seattle in June 2026.
