Foster location: Weyauwega  Application & Website: https://www.ourpackanimalrescue.com/adoption.html Bio:  MEET BIRDIE! Aussie Mix | Puppy | Smart + Energetic Birdie is absolutely adorable… but don’t let that sweet puppy face fool you. This girl is going to be SMART, BUSY, energetic, and a whole lot of fun! As we’ve gotten to know these Aussie mix puppies, one thing has become very clear: these are not couch-potato puppies. They are going to need an active family that is ready to put in the time and effort to help them become amazing adult dogs. And let’s be VERY clear about something: PUPPIES ARE WORK. Birdie is going to need someone who is prepared for: Potty training ️ Kennel/crate training Puppy chewing Learning appropriate manners Basic obedience and continued training Proper socialization ⚡ Daily physical exercise LOTS of mental stimulation Appropriate ways to burn off that puppy energy ❤️ Patience when she doesn’t get it right the first time ⏰ TIME — lots of it Consistency and commitment An Aussie mix without enough exercise, structure, and mental stimulation can become a very creative little troublemaker. A bored puppy will find something to do, and I promise you… you probably won't love their choice of entertainment. Birdie needs a family who wants to teach her, not just love her. She needs someone who understands that training isn't something you do for a few weeks and then check off the list. It is how you help a puppy learn how to live successfully in your home. She needs boundaries, consistency, positive reinforcement, exercise, enrichment, and someone willing to stick with her through the frustrating puppy stages. Because yes, there will be accidents. Yes, there will be chewing. Yes, she may have moments where she completely forgets everything she just learned. Yes, she will probably have more energy than you expected. But with the RIGHT family? You are going to have one incredibly smart, loyal, fun, athletic, engaged companion who wants to be involved in EVERYTHING you do. ❤️ Birdie is looking for an active family ready to raise a puppy, not simply someone looking for a cute dog. If you work long hours, don't have time for training, aren't interested in providing daily exercise and enrichment, or are hoping she'll just magically grow out of puppy behavior… Birdie is not your dog. And that's okay! ❤️ We would much rather have you recognize that now than have Birdie end up needing a new home later. But if you're ready for muddy paws, puppy kisses, training sessions, zoomies, patience, consistency, laughter, frustration, growth, and eventually an incredible adult dog who knows exactly what is expected of her… Birdie may be your girl. We aren't looking for perfect. We're looking for committed. Because Birdie deserves a family who will put in the work to help her become everything she has the potential to be. If that's you, get your pre-approval in! Our Pack Animal Rescue,  Inc. Is an all foster based 501c3 rescue. License #487823. Meet and greets are arranged after an application has been approved. An approved application does not mean you must adopt the dog of interest, if it isn't a good fit.
