Adoption fee: $800 Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Chris Young, a tiny Yorkie with a BIG personality and a heart that could fill an entire room! At 8 years old and just 7.8 pounds, Chris may be petite, but don’t let his tiny frame fool you. This little guy has the confidence of a lion, the sweetness of a teddy bear, and just enough comedy mixed in to keep you smiling all day long. Chris came to us from a breeder along with four other dogs, and from the moment he arrived in his foster home, he has been an absolute joy. He didn’t need much time to settle in. Chris pretty much decided right away that his new foster family was his people! He happily trots from room to room, follows along with whatever everyone is doing, and loves simply being near his humans. But here’s something especially wonderful about Chris: he’s affectionate without being needy. Chris enjoys following you around and coming over for attention, but he doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety. If you’re busy, he’s perfectly happy entertaining himself or relaxing nearby. And when you call his name? You can expect that adorable little Yorkie to come trotting right over. A Day in the Life of Chris Young Chris starts his mornings around 7:30am with a backyard potty break, followed by breakfast and a nice walk. Throughout the day, you’ll find him doing what he does best, being cute! He’ll trot around the house, hang out with the resident dogs, cuddle with his people, and occasionally request a little game of fetch. His favorite toy is a small squeaky stuffy that fits perfectly in his tiny mouth. Watching this little guy proudly carry his toy around is guaranteed to make you smile. Around 6pm, it’s dinner time followed by his second walk of the day. After that, Chris is perfectly content to lounge nearby or better yet, curl up in your lap while you work. Chris gets along wonderfully with his foster family’s three dogs. He isn’t constantly wrestling or roughhousing with them, but he enjoys their company and loves moving through the house as part of the pack. Every once in a while he’ll join in for some playtime, but he’s also perfectly happy simply being near his furry friends. Chris would potentially enjoy having another small dog around his size, although he certainly doesn’t require a canine companion to be happy. Chris has a playful side and absolutely loves a good game of fetch. Give him a little squeaky toy and he’ll happily entertain himself with it. When playtime is over, though, Chris is more than happy to switch gears and become a professional lounger. His favorite place might just be your lap while you’re working, where he can supervise everything you’re doing. After all, someone has to make sure you’re working correctly! If you’re looking for a tiny dog who actually enjoys walking, Chris is your guy! He walks wonderfully on leash and doesn’t pull, chase squirrels, or bark at passing dogs. He enjoys taking his time and sniffing everything along the way. Because he’s such a petite little guy, his foster family uses a small harness, and Chris does beautifully with it. He’s the kind of companion who would happily join you for a neighborhood stroll, a coffee run, or a little adventure around town. Chris is making great progress with housetraining and does best with frequent backyard breaks and regular walks. He’s also crate-trained and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. He’s not familiar with doggy doors or potty pads, so his new family will simply need to continue helping him along with his routine. Here’s where Chris gets REALLY funny. Chris Young may weigh only 7.8 pounds, but apparently nobody told him that he’s supposed to act like a little dog. When strangers appear outside or someone new enters the house, Chris may sound the alarm with his surprisingly deep bark, a bark that almost sounds like a little cough coming from a dog who has absolutely no business sounding that serious! And his confidence? Legendary. Chris is fearless. In the presence of strangers, this tiny Yorkie will suddenly transform into a full sized security guard, ready to protect his people as though he’s a 100 pound lion. He’s basically saying:“Don’t worry, everyone. I’ve got this.” Because sometimes the best things really do come in tiny packages. Chris is sweet, loving, playful, affectionate, funny, independent, and absolutely adorable. He’ll follow you around because he enjoys your company, but he’s also perfectly comfortable relaxing on his own. He’ll play fetch when you’re ready for fun, curl up in your lap when you’re ready to relax, and happily join you for walks and adventures. His ideal home could look like many different things, but what Chris really wants is simple: a family who will love him dearly and make him part of their everyday life. A home with another small, friendly dog could be wonderful, but it’s completely optional. What isn’t optional is giving this little guy plenty of love, cuddles, attention, and a safe place to call home. And because Chris is only 7.8 pounds, he’s practically the perfect size for accompanying you on life’s little adventures. Coffee runs? Absolutely. Errands? He’s ready. Lounging on the couch? His favorite. Being your tiny, four-legged shadow? He already has that covered. Chris Young is proof that you don’t need a big dog to have a BIG presence in your life. If you’re looking for a sweet little companion who will make you laugh, keep you company, cuddle with you, play a little fetch, and occasionally pretend he’s your personal bodyguard, Chris Young might just be your perfect match.
