General info
Description
Meet DW, the 4 month old puppy. DW arrived to the Shelter with her three siblings. They had been an accidental litter. Their mom, who is a Husky x Australian Shepherd mix, was impregnated by an unknown male dog. We suspect some sort of smaller breed as these puppies are not very large for their age. DW is a bit of a shy puppy. She sometimes barks to alert to new people or things. With time and patience, she warms up and engages. A dog savvy adopter that will allow her to warm up at her own pace is recommended. A home with other animals may be a fit with a slow, thoughtful introduction. DW should meet any resident dogs at the Shelter prior to adoption. DW is still perfecting all things puppy such as potty training, leash walking and age-appropriate socialization. DW is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
