This sensitive shy guy is Nacho, a 1 year old cat looking for a new home. Nacho can be really worried when interacting with new people or environments, and he's been through a lot of pretty scary transitions recently, so he's finding shelter life to be overwhelming. He's hoping to go to a lower-traffic home where he can work on adjusting and building confidence at his own pace. Because he's fearful, Nacho will do best with a family able to practice petting consent - meaning, letting him be the one to initiate interactions, and offering breaks when petting or grooming to ensure he's still opting in. If you're looking to open your home up to a shy kiddo who's likely to need a gentler start, then come on down to chat with us about Nacho! He currently lives in an office away from the main adoption area, so ask staff about him when you get here!
