I’m Momma Tortilla. I’m almost five years old, and I’ve learned to move carefully through the world.I came from a situation where things were crowded and uncertain, and at one point I ended up outside in a crate with my kittens. They’ve all gone on to find their homes now. I’m still here, waiting for mine after nearly four years.I can be shy when I first meet new people. I prefer to watch, to assess, and to make sure I understand what’s going on before I decide it’s safe. I don’t rush trust, but I don’t refuse it either.Once I feel secure, I soften. I may act like I’m not sure about you at first, but if you’re gentle and patient, I’ll accept pets and attention and quietly realize it’s something I’ve been needing.I do best in a calm home where things are predictable and kind. I don’t need much, just time, space, and someone willing to let me adjust at my own pace without pushing me past my comfort zone. I'm not mean, just nervous. I won't even hiss.I’m not the loudest or the boldest cat in the room, but I am paying attention.
