BLUE

Description

Meet Blue, the male miniature poodle mix. Blue arrived to the Shelter after a short term guardian was caring for him but was unable to care for him long term. Blue came to the Shelter a bit raggedy looking – seeming like he enjoyed hanging out outdoors and needed some fresh grooming. He was somewhat timid at first but then warmed up. When someone familiar say hi, he is bubbly and sociable. He can be a little shy and avoidant of other dogs. Any resident dogs in the home should meet prior to adoption. Due to some sensitivities with handling and general timidness, a home with older, dog-savvy children is recommended, if any at all. We do not have any history of Blue around other animals. Blue’s adopter should be mindful that he is a dog that needs regular grooming to stay healthy. This may include daily brushing but also could involve professional grooming in a regular basis.Blue is available for pre-adoption. Come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week. Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
