Gerbil Care Information:Housing:Recommended space is 10 gallons per gerbil.Keep them in same-sex pairs or groups! They are very social rodents and enjoy companionship!8 to 10inches of bedding to allow for natural tunneling/digging behaviorMultiple hides and/or tunnels (cardboard or wood is best!, They will tear thin cardboard to have nesting material in their hide)~10in solid surface exercise wheelCeramic bowl for sand bathCleaning:Remove uneaten feed and feces every few days (spot clean)Deep clean housing every 2-3 weeksIdeally keep a small amount of old bedding to mix with new to keep the familiar scent. This reduces stress for your gerbil! Bedding: aspen shavings and/or paper bedding. Mixing with timothy hay will help with tunnels gerbils like to build. Avoid! Cedar and untreated pine as this can cause respiratory issues.Feeding/Water:Water bowl mounted on side of tank, (additionally small ceramic bowl if able)Species appropriate pellets (1 tsp per gerbil daily)Scatter feed or in ceramic bowlTreats: Fresh fruit/veggies: berries, pears, apples, melons, carrot, broccoli, cucumber, kale, peas.
