Meet Nika, a senior dog with a heart full of joy. This sweet, friendly, and smart canine is the epitome of a great companion. Nika is not only playful but also well-behaved with impeccable house manners. She walks beautifully on a leash and has a special love for splashing around in water. She would love to join you on a walk to the beach.  Nika's delightful demeanor makes every day brighter. She is calm with visiting kids but would prefer not to live with small children. She is great left alone in the house when you are out, and loves entertaining herself with toys, especially ones that squeak! She enjoys sunbathing in the back yard and would love a fenced in yard to lounge around in, but it's not required.  If you're looking for a loyal friend who brings both fun and calm to your home, Nika is your perfect match. Medical Note:  This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia.  This does not mean that this dog had/has an active infection of ehrlichiosis, only that the dog was exposed or infected in the past. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and is being treated/has been treated preventatively with a 28-day course of doxycycline.  This dog is ready for adoption, though may continue to test positive for exposure to ehrlichia for some time.  Please see here for more information on ehrlichia, and please check with your vet before you apply to adopt this dog if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.
