GUMBO

Description

I'm Gumbo, I came into the shelter as a stray on August 11, 2026, it has been a rough start here because it can be loud sometimes. I was really shut down the first 3 days, then I started accepting treats from familiar faces. I even let them take me out of the kennel and put me in a yard. Once, when I was in the yard, a volunteer came in with me and just sat on the bench. She just sat there and didn't even look at me. I decided to go see what she was doing. She was quiet, didn't move too fast, so I felt safe, and put my paws on her lap. The rest is history! I have more friends around the shelter and even want to meet other dogs. I enjoy meeting new people as long as they let me take my time to get comfortable with them and don't rush me.
