Meet Ben, a 4-year-old neutered male Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd mix who was surrendered when his owner had to move.Ben is friendly, affectionate, and comes when called, especially whenthere`s a chance snacks are involved. He knows sit and shake, and he hastaken things to the next level by offering both paws at once. Why shake withone paw when you can give the deluxe two-paw version? He`s very treatmotivated and takes treats gently, because even a professional snackenthusiast has manners. Ben also seems to know stay and leave it, althoughhis definition of `stay` is more of a strong suggestion than a bindingcontract. He`ll do it. just not for terribly long.When it comes to affection, Ben is all in. He leans right into you for pets,making it pretty clear that he believes you should keep your hands exactlywhere they are. He has decided that being handsome, friendly, and treat-motivated is aperfectly respectable career choice. And honestly? He`s right. He`ll chase toys and pick them up, but don`t expect him tobring them back-fetch is apparently beneath his job description. He`s alsonot particularly interested in entertaining himself with toys.Ben is recommended for kids 12+ due to his size and activity level. Whilehis previous owner reported that he was friendly with dogs, a meet and greetwith other dogs is recommended so introductions can be done at his own pace.Ben is a sweet, people-loving guy with a great mix of good manners, goofycharm, and snack-powered enthusiasm.
