Description

Meet Sam! Sam is a 2-year-old handsome boy who came to PAC as a stray on February 14, 2026, after his caretaker noticed he was urinating blood. He received medical care, recovered well, and moved into foster care when the stress of the kennel environment became too much for him. When Sam first arrived, he was a nervous, shut-down kitty who wasn't quite sure the world was a safe place. He needed time, patience, and a little reassurance before he could let his guard down. But with the help of his foster families, this once-frozen boy has been slowly coming out of his shell, and his progress has been beautiful to watch. Sam may take a little time to settle into a new environment, but underneath that initial shyness is a total lover boy! Once he starts feeling comfortable, he leans into pets, seeks out affection, and enjoys being close to his people. One of his fosters even returned after three days away to discover a more confident and affectionate Sam waiting for them. And his newest foster family didn't need long to see his sweet side, either! Within just five days, Sam was already pursuing them for pets and showing them what a sweetheart he is. He's learning that people can be pretty wonderful after all! When he's not soaking up affection, Sam enjoys finding cozy places to lounge, especially a warm heating pad. He's also very food motivated and isn't afraid to get talkative when mealtime rolls around. ?? He has been introduced to his foster family's resident cats and has been very submissive with them, suggesting he may do well with other feline companions when introductions are handled thoughtfully.Sam does have a few preferences. He isn't a fan of being picked up, and carriers can be a challenge, so he'll need a family willing to respect his boundaries and help him feel secure. A calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace will give him the best chance to continue blossoming.Sam has already come such a long way from the frightened boy who first arrived at the shelter. Now, he just needs someone willing to see the loving, affectionate companion hiding beneath that initial shyness.Could you be the person who gives Sam the safe, cozy home he's been waiting for? A warm spot to nap, a full food bowl, gentle pets, and a family who loves him just as he is would make his world. Sam has waited long enough for his forever family. Please consider adopting this sweet boy or sharing his story to help him find the home he deserves!Schedule an appointment to meet Sam at PAC and give this former frozen kitty his chance to bloom!
