Callahan

Description

Callahan came to the shelter on 4/7/2026 from the city pound when his stray hold was finished. He is pure energy in canine form. We are assuming that a former MCHS resident (already adopted) was Callahan's littermate, and that dog was born in June 2025 and mixed with pit bull, lab, and a few other breeds. This fits our guesses for Callahan's breed mix and age, as he definitely has all the bells and whistles of a young, active dog. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. A prospective adopter should be ready, willing, and able to provide Callahan with plenty of exercise and training, including housetraining. He's a friendly guy but has obviously forgotten where his manners are, if he ever had them. However, the kid has potential (we're optimists). We think he'll be a lot of fun for someone. He really has a happy-go-lucky personality. Callahan would do best in a home without young children or small animals. No other dogs for him, at least to start.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
