Buckle up for the Chloe Saga, it is a long one! Chloe is the coolest calico with the most striking facial bone structure that rivals human models. Although she has the beauty of the prettiest cats in the world, she unfortunately arrived at the shelter very unsocialized and has had some confidence issues with humans. She was taken into a foster home and has made vast improvements in her view of humans. She gains a little bit of confidence each day, and she is absolutely hilarious to watch interact with other cats. She makes the funniest trilling sounds and has the squeakiest meow when playing with other kitties. She also loves giving headbutts to ask for pets; she is honestly probably part ram with how much she uses her noggin. Her foster mom says Chloe is learning how to trust humans because she watches the other kitties interact with them. It is because of this that we highly encourage her to be adopted into a home where she has a cat friend. This girl used to hiss at everything, no swatting or biting, thankfully! She used to hiss when her foster would walk, shuffle, look at her, breathe differently, you name it, she hissed. But excellent news: she doesn't hiss anymore, even when people are moving around quickly or rushing. She actually loves to follow her foster mom around and can hold a conversation with her cutest meows. Chloe has made leaps and bounds of improvement with her confidence and does well with routine. She can be left alone and is not destructive, and she plays with lots of toys on her own. Interactive toys are her favorite; she loves puzzles. She'll do best with a patient and understanding family who will give her the time she needs to continue blossoming. She may start out as more of a quiet observer, but that's just part of her charm. Full transparency on Chloe's timeline, though: it took about three months of patience and working with her to help build her confidence, but it truly has been the most rewarding experience. She was introduced to other kitties in the house over the course of two weeks, but the foster was being extra cautious because Chloe was such a nervous kitty. She was introduced to the dog over the course of two months, and she is very curious about him, but he is a high energy beagle mix, so she tends to observe him from far away. She sniffs him when he's asleep though, so with patience we truly believe she can coexist with dogs as well. If you're looking for a really basic summary: Chloe needs a cat friend to help her maintain her newfound confidence, she can coexist with dogs, and she needs a patient home.
