Meet Emery! Emery is an 8-week-old female short-haired kitten who came to Rockwall Adoptions with her two siblings after they were found outside. The family who initially took them in soon realized they were not prepared to care for three young kittens long-term, so they made the decision to surrender them so they could have the opportunity to find permanent, loving homes. Emery's early experiences left her understandably nervous around people, and she arrived frightened and under-socialized. Since coming into our care, she has started making encouraging progress. Emery is now tolerant of being handled and is slowly becoming more comfortable with gentle human interaction. She is still shy and cautious and is not yet seeking out affection, but she is beginning to understand that people can be a source of safety rather than something to fear. Emery will do best with an adopter who is patient, consistent, and willing to continue helping her build trust through regular handling, positive experiences, and daily socialization. With time and a calm, loving environment, we believe Emery can continue gaining confidence and discovering just how good life in a safe home can be. Emery's spay surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, 2026. This date is non-negotiable. An approved online adoption application is required before meeting Emery and before adoption.
