Meet Bessie!Bessie is an adorable young black-and-white kitten who may be a little shy at first, but underneath that cautious exterior is a sweet little heart just waiting to feel safe and loved. She’s still learning that the world can be a wonderful place, and she would thrive with a patient family willing to give her the time she needs to come out of her shell.With a little patience, gentle encouragement, and lots of love, Bessie will hopefully blossom into a confident and loving companion. She’s looking for a quiet, caring forever home where she can settle in at her own pace and discover just how wonderful it is to be loved.Sometimes the shyest kitties become the most special companions. All Bessie needs is someone willing to give her a chance.Bessie is on-site and available for introductions during open adoption hours. The adoption paperwork can be completed now with your new pet able to go home as soon as the spay/neuter procedure has been completed.Adoptable cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, started on core vaccines per shelter protocols, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, and started on monthly preventatives. Adoptions hours (no appointment needed) are M/T/W/F 10 am - 12:30 pm and 2 pm -4 pm; TH 10 am -12:30 pm and 2 pm -6:30 pm, and SAT 9 am -1 pm. To schedule an appointment outside of those hours, and/or to learn more information regarding a particular animal, please call the Feline Department at 410-848-4810 ext 816. If no one answers, please leave a detailed message with your name and phone number, and the call will be returned by end of business Monday - Friday.Adopters can prepare for their visit by being 18 years of age or older, having permission from their landlord to bring a new pet into their household, having some form of ID that shows their current address, and by bringing a suitable carrier to take their new companion home in. The adoption fee can be paid using cash, debit or credit and is based on age: Cats 1 year and younger are $75; cats 2 years to 7 years are $50; and 8 years and older are $25.
