Description
At just 9.5 pounds and around five years old, Violet may be petite, but she's carrying a lifetime of experiences on those tiny shoulders. Violet came to our rescue from an under-socialized environment where she didn't have many opportunities to learn that people can be trusted. Along the way, she also had at least one litter of puppies, and now it's finally her turn to be cared for and loved. Because of her past, Violet isn't the type of dog who will leap into your lap on day one. She takes her time getting to know new people and situations, and she'll need a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to let her move at her own pace. Trust is something Violet gives carefully, but once you earn it, you'll discover the sweet little girl waiting underneath. In her foster home, Violet can be a little "spicy" when she's feeling unsure. We don't blame her. The world has been a confusing place for her, and she's learned to speak up when she's uncomfortable. With consistency, kindness, and respect for her boundaries, we're already seeing glimpses of the loving companion she's meant to be. Violet would do best with someone who has experience with Chihuahuas or other small dogs and understands that confidence and trust can't be rushed. Her ideal family will celebrate the small victories, appreciate her quirky personality, and give her the time she needs to truly shine. Watching Violet come out of her shell is incredibly rewarding. She's looking for that special person who sees not just who she is today, but the amazing dog she's becoming. If you have a patient heart and a soft spot for underdogs, Violet just might be your perfect match.
