Meet Babycakes Babycakes is a beautiful female calico kitten with a sweet, gentle personality and so much love to give. She is friendly, affectionate, playful, and loves spending time with both people and her littermates, Sweetiepie, Honeybun, and Sugarplum . Babycakes and her siblings were rescued from a car yard and brought to safety. Since then, they have been staying with a wonderful foster who has loved and cared for them tremendously, helping them grow into happy, trusting, affectionate kittens. Babycakes previously had some concerns involving her eye, so she was evaluated by an eye specialist. We are very happy to share that the doctor felt her eyes appear to be approximately the same size and does not believe she has an increased risk of cancer. Babycakes does have a very small cataract in one eye . The doctor explained that this can sometimes occur in bottle-fed kittens or may simply be genetic. At this time, the cataract is something that can be monitored as she grows, but it is not preventing her from being cleared for adoption . There is also a small area of tissue visible near the side of one eye. The specialist believes this is related to how the eye developed before birth. In Babycakes' case, the tissue is simply more visible than usual. The doctor does not believe it is cancerous and does not expect it to become significantly larger. Even better news — Babycakes no longer needs her eye medication , and at this time the specialist does not feel she needs another recheck unless something changes or a new concern develops. Through all of this, Babycakes has continued to be the same happy, loving little girl. She plays, cuddles, explores, and enjoys kitten life just like her siblings. Preference will be given to a home that can adopt Babycakes with one of her siblings, as she loves having another kitten to play, cuddle, and grow up with. However, we are also open to placing Babycakes as a single adoption with the right family, especially in a home that already has another friendly cat or kitten who can be her companion and playmate. Our biggest priority is finding Babycakes the loving home she deserves — whether that is alongside one of her siblings or with a wonderful new feline friend already waiting for her. Prior to adoption, all kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. Kittens under 5 months old must be adopted with a buddy or into a house where there's a kitten-friendly pet. This kitten is currently in a foster home.
