General info
Description
Summit (A138519) is a 3-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog x Husky mix who weighed roughly 65 pounds on intake! 09/05/26 Miss Summit is back at the shelter because her most recent owners were moving and not able to take her along. Summit was said to be kennel trained and housebroken. She was also said to have some experience in harness! She was described as being an affectionate dog who can be rough when playing. She has been known to chew, jump on counters and get into the trash when the opportunity presents itself, so she still needs some help with her manners. We were not given information on Summit's recent experiences with other animals or kiddos, so please make sure any and all introductions are done in a safe and controlled manner. Also, Summit probably still has the high prey drive that was noted at her last time through the shelter. If you are itnerested in meeting Summit, please give us a call!05/27/25 This beautiful pup is Summit! Summit was surrendered to the shelter because her owner was moving and unable to bring her with them. Summit was initially an indoor dog as a puppy, but transitioned to spending most of her time outdoors for the past 2 years. She will need help transitioning back to the inside life - potty training, kennel training, and continuing with her basic obedience. Summit was said to have decent recall and knows the command sit. She is an energetic pup who still jumps on people and would benefit from attending a basic obedience class. Summit was said described as friendly to children, strangers, and adults. But it was noted that she does not understand her size and might run or bump into children. Please keep that in mind if you have kiddos in the home. Summit was also said to do well with other dogs but has no history with cats or pocket pets. Her prior owner noted that she has exhibited signs of a high prey drive and chases after squirrels and birds. Summit would do best in a home without small animals. If you are interested in meeting Summit, please let us know!
