Rosie didn’t know how to play but she is learning and would be fine with another male or female pup around her age that is socialized.  She craves attention because she never had any and she loves it. Sadly, she came to us with heartworms so she will go through treatment for those and will not be available until the 28th of November, just in time for the holidays.  Don’t let the heartworms scare you. She is light heartworm positive and she’ll be clear of them when she goes to her forever home.  This delay will give you plenty of time to plan for Rosie and shop for her for the holiday. Our must haves for this little one are: A fenced in yard Another brother or sister to learn to play with, young and small - no big dogs Someone that can be home more than not Please no apartments, high rises or condo If you want years of devotion, then you can’t go wrong with this Rosie.  Apply, get approved, and we’ll keep you posted on how she is doing with treatment.   If you live close enough, you can come and visit her when approved.  ============= Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
