Meet Penny! Penny is an adorable 6-month-old, 9lb, Shih Tzu mix with a sweet personality and a wonderful ability to fit right in wherever she finds herself.Penny absolutely loves attention and affection and would be perfectly content being held and treated like the center of someone’s world. But Penny also has a playful, confident side. She loves playing with her siblings and has even emerged as a bit of a ringleader at times! What makes Penny special is how easily she adapts — she can take the lead when the opportunity arises and just as happily fall back and be part of the group.Penny gets along wonderfully with other dogs, including the adult resident dogs in her foster home. She is a smart girl who quickly learned the household routine. She is crate trained, sleeps soundly through the night in her pen, has had no accidents there, and lets her foster know when she needs to go outside. She also rides well in the car.Penny’s adaptable nature could make her a wonderful fit for many different homes. She could happily soak up all the attention as someone’s special companion, become part of a family, or share her home with other dogs.Whether she’s snuggled in your arms or right in the middle of the puppy fun, sweet Penny just seems to know how to fit in. Whoever gets to love this special little girl will be very lucky indeed. Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match.
