Meet Val, a 1‑year‑old gray tabby who has shown more strength and heart than most cats ever need to. She came to us as a scared stray, and when staff arrived the next morning, they discovered she had given birth overnight. She hadn’t been far along in her pregnancy, but the stress of life outdoors pushed her into early labor. One of her kittens didn’t survive, but her remaining two were thriving — thanks entirely to Val’s fierce devotion.Val was moved to our medical wing, where she cared for her babies with everything she had. She did such an incredible job that when we received a single orphaned kitten a few days later, we knew exactly who could help. Val welcomed that little one as her own and raised all three babies with patience, gentleness, and unwavering love.Now her kittens are grown,and ready for their next chapters — and Val is finally ready for hers.Val is sweet, affectionate, and people‑friendly, though she may be a bit shy when you first meet her. Give her just a few minutes, and she’ll show you the same warmth she showed her babies for three months.
