Description

Mob is an approximately 8–10 month old neutered black cat who started out as a neighborhood community cat but has become increasingly social and interested in indoor life. He is playful, curious, high-energy, affectionate, and a little chatty. He loves playing with a variety of toys, enjoys watching cat TV, and is a quick learner. He enjoys being petted, is comfortable being held, and is getting more cuddly as he spends more time indoors. He is not particularly shy with people he knows, although he may need a little time to adjust to a new environment. Mob also does very well with our dogs. He relaxes and sleeps next to our corgi, allows our other dog to lick his head and ears, and occasionally even joins us on our dog walks. His compatibility with other cats is currently unknown. He has some very endearing habits. He kneads his bed before settling down to sleep, and when he is being fed he gives enthusiastic head-butt “thank yous” while his food is being scooped—sometimes enthusiastically enough to knock a little food out of your hand and end up with crumbs on his face. He can be a bit of a messy eater, but it is part of his charm. Mob is also a quick learner. Setting boundaries in the house has been relatively easy; if he gets into something he shouldn’t, a simple shoo or calmly carrying him away is usually enough, and he adapts quickly. He is currently still living an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. He comes inside throughout the day to eat, play, and sleep and has started staying overnight, but he still asks to go outside at times. He has not yet used an indoor litter box and currently waits until he is outside to use the bathroom, so his adopter should be comfortable continuing his transition to indoor life. Mob received FVRCP, FeLV, and rabies vaccinations when he was TNR’d. He also receives monthly flea preventative. We think he would do especially well with someone who wants a young, playful, interactive cat and is willing to give him a little time to continue adjusting to indoor life. Mob is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, please fill out our application here: https://www.thedancingcat.org/adopt-courtesy For more information regarding our Courtesy Posts, see www.thedancingcat.org/courtesy-posts
