General info
Description
Meet Sadie, the adolescent Malinois Catahoula mix. Sadie was adopted out as a puppy and came back after her previous guardian had some medical needs that they needed to take care of and ultimately kept them from continuing to care for Sadie. Sadie would thrive in an active household that is looking for a hiking, running or adventure buddy. She was noted by her previous guardian to be friendly with strangers. She was left alone for about an hour a day (free roam) and did well. Her favorite activities are chasing the ball and running. Sadie would likely do well in a home with another dog who wants to play with her. Any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. She does not have any history with children or cats. Sadie has a lot of wonderful skills under her belt as a 5 month old puppy but will need some patience in the transition to perfect life skills like potty training, leash walking and age appropriate socialization. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
