** This dog is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX. Prospective adopters must be able to travel to San Antonio to complete the adoption process.  Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Kolt is a funny 3-month-old who weighs only 4 pounds. His mother is an 11# long-haired dachshund mix.  We don't know who dad is, but likely a chihuahua. He loves his "cave bed" or to burrow under pillows, etc. when it's nap time (although he'd rather cuddle with you).  He loves to cuddle, when he's not busy playing and growling at toys. He is fearless, except when there is a loud noise, then it's time to run to mom.  He has already taught himself how to use the dog door but hasn't yet figured that outside is where he should potty.  He's making progress though.  He is a lot of fun, but doesn't like to be alone, so would do best in a home where he does not spend a lot of time alone.   Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more) - not just until his puppy cuteness wears off. You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Like most puppies, he may chew on anything within his reach to include but not limited to baseboards, shoes, socks, children's toys, electrical cords, plants, etc. His adoption fee is $250. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccinations, Bravecto®, Drontal® Plus, Tri-Heart® Plus Chewable Tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories.
