Description
Pauli is a handsome 14-pound Mini Schnauzer, approximately 2–3 years old, and he has already overcome more than any young dog should ever have to endure. For the first years of his life, Pauli lived outside in a kennel with none of the comforts of a home. He was one of five dogs surrendered by an elderly couple who had more than 25 dogs. The local small-town animal shelter reached out to Critter Cavalry Rescue for help, and thankfully, Pauli is now getting the chance to discover what life is really supposed to be like. What we've discovered about this little guy has been absolutely delightful and refreshing. Pauli loves to lean into you for love and reassurance, almost as if he is making sure you're really there for him. Once he knows he's safe, his wonderful personality shines through. This boy is quite the athletic acrobat! He loves to sprint, tumble, jump from the sofa to a chair, and even use the coffee table as a springboard. He is happiest when showing off for his foster mom and enjoying his newfound freedom. Once his exercise routine is over, Pauli is perfectly happy to settle down beside you, put his head in your lap, and simply chill with a full heart of love and contentment, knowing that all is good in his new foster world.Living outside in a kennel was never the right life for such a lively, loving Schnauzer boy. Pauli is also very food motivated, which has made teaching him basic commands a breeze when treats are involved. He is smart, eager to please, and determined to figure out the rules of his new world. And get this — Pauli is almost 100% potty trained! Not bad at all for a little guy who spent the first 2–3 years of his life living outside in a kennel. In just two weeks, he has come soooo far because this guy is a smart little DUDE! He wants to please, he wants to learn, and he wants to get the rules down pat.Now Pauli needs the final piece of his journey: a forever family who will love him, guide him, and never make him live without the comforts of home again. If you love the Schnauzer breed and their wonderful combination of intelligence, energy, personality, and incredible capacity to love, Pauli may be your very special little lover boy.If you think Pauli could be your forever best friend, please step right up and request an application to adopt him through Critter Cavalry Rescue.
