Description

Birthday: January 13, 2024 Simba is a true warrior with a heart of gold.  Before being saved by a kind rescuer, Simba spent months locked outside by his previous owners, left to fend for himself in the freezing snow. Yet, when you look into his gorgeous eyes, you won't see any bitterness - only a resilient boy who has chosen nothing but love, gratitude, and deep affection for the humans who care for him.  Once Simba knows he is safe, he transforms into the ultimate companion.  He is an incredibly loyal boy who forms deep bonds with his chosen person.  He will follow you from room to room, chat with you using his wonderful, expressive vocabulary, and happily curl up right next to you on a chair or the couch for a long cuddle session.  While he prefers cuddling next to you rather than sitting directly on your lap, he absolutely loves to be picked up and hugged, where he will happily purr like a little engine and gently lick your fingers to show his appreciation. Because of his past abandonment, Simba has a few charming, unique quirks that his future family should know and love: - The Ultimate Dinner Date: Simba loves human company so much that he currently prefers his trusted person to hold his dish or sit right by him while he eats. - A Calm Sanctuary: Simba can be shy around new people or in loud environments.  If a stranger enters the room, he prefers to tuck himself safely under a blanket on the couch until he knows the coast is clear. However, once he bonds with you, he completely blossoms - he wants to be right out in the open, handing around you and playing happily in your plain sight! - Spirited Play: Simba loves to play, but he can be a little rough when he gets excited.  If he is petted a bit too roughly or in a sensitive spot, he may turn and give a minor play-bite. He is looking for a cat-savvy owner who can read his body language, keep play sessions structured with his toys, and help him learn gentle boundaries. - Other Animals: Simba was briefly introduced to other cats behind a pet gate and showed zero hostility or hissing! However, he would do best in a home that can manage slow, proper introductions or excel as your one-and-only king of the castle. - Indoor Sanctuary & Collar Quirks: Simba is microchipped by LCCR, and because of his history of neglect outside, he must remain a strictly indoor-only cat where he will always stay safe, warm, and protected.  His future family should also know that he is a bit of a clever escape artist with collars! He has been taking his off lately, so his collar will need a careful adjustment to ensure a safe, snug fit, or his home can choose to rely primarily on his microchip. - Menu & Litter Preferences: To keep his stomach happy and his transition seamless, Simba has a set routine he thrives on! He does wonderful on Science Diet Indoor Adult dry cat food, and his absolute favorite treat is wet food - he gets half a can of Friskies pate or meaty bits twice a day.  When it comes to his bathroom habits, he is fully litter trained and is very accustomed to using Fresh Step cat litter.  Simba's adoption donation is $115 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and neuter.
