Description

Meet Spot — A Boy Who Is Truly Tops!Spelled backwards, Spot is “Tops” — and that’s exactly what this sweet boy is!Spot is a beautiful 2-year-old Pointer mix weighing 54 pounds. He may have had a ruff start in life, but you’d never know it from his loving, trusting personality. With his giant paws, floppy ears, and big heart, Spot is a boy who simply wants to be close to his people.Spot doesn’t need much to be happy. Give him his basic needs, some love and attention, and most importantly, you — and he’s a happy boy. He loves food and treats and enjoys toys, balls, and his Kong, but his favorite thing of all is simply being with his people. And Spot comes with some pretty great manners! He is housebroken, walks wonderfully on a leash, and doesn’t jump on people or get into things he shouldn’t. He is eager to please and responds well to gentle redirection. He knows “sit” and is working on mastering “stay.”Spot would love a home where someone is around more often than not. He’s making wonderful progress with his daytime crate training and can now comfortably stay crated for up to 3 hours, with the goal of eventually earning more freedom in the house. He is great in his crate overnight.Spot does have a big voice, but he is a good listener! He may bark at dogs and people when he’s behind a fence, but he responds well when asked to stop. He has shown some interest in chasing cats, although he doesn’t bark at them, and he doesn’t appear to have a particularly high prey drive.Spot hasn’t been around children yet, but he has such a sweet, chill temperament. Because he’s a big, enthusiastic boy who could accidentally knock over a little one when excited, a home with older children may be the best fit.Spot is an easy boy to care for and would fit beautifully into many different types of families. More than anything, he’s looking for someone who will appreciate what a special, devoted dog he is and give him the love and companionship he’s been waiting for.If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who would love nothing more than to spend his days by your side, Spot is ready to find his perfect spot — right next to you, forever. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and will be available for adoption starting 9/6/26.
