Meet Horatio: Lottery Winner Horatio won the lottery when he was rescued from life on the streets and taken into his foster home. His foster mom brought him out of his shell and is teaching him how to live the good life of a much loved house cat. Horatio is learning that he no longer has to scavenge for every meal; that food is plentiful and presented to him regularly. Still, he’s always ready for more lest it be in short supply again. What a happy task to reinforce in him that he will always be given nice meals and treats. This handsome boy is also learning the finer points of playing. He hunts his catnip mouse like the pro he is, and chases the confounding red dot coming from a laser pointer. He also enjoys being brushed a bit and will gently let you know when he’s had enough.  Horatio quickly learned to appreciate a kind and loving human, and he always likes to be nearby. He’s happy to sit with you on the couch and occasionally might even climb into your lap. His manners are impeccable; he will never ask you to change the channel, but he will ask you to serve him a snack to munch on while he watches along. Fair enough, we all love TV snacks, right? His preference is for crunchy treats, and he also loves Churu tubes; he is still learning inside manners and hasn’t quite got the hang of just licking it as it comes out of the tube. His experience has been that you have to bite right down on the packaging to get to the good stuff inside. Regardless, he will always say thank you and offer up his head and cheek for gentle scritches. This lovely kitty has been in a quiet home with just his foster mom. He will fully come into his House Cat Era if he remains in a quiet and calm environment. While he has not been exposed to other indoor kitties, he might love to have a buddy if properly and carefully introduced. Another compatible cat could encourage his playful side and show him the ropes of being boss to a well trained human.  Horatio is a beautiful cat and a wonderful companion.
