From her foster: Remember Dakota? She is a 9ish month old, 70 lbs, shepherdish girl who is back and looking for a home.  She was in a great home who did a lot of work with her but it wasn’t working out. What we’ve learned about her along the way: She does great with medium/large/XL dogs, but is too big/rough for small dogs. In fact she would do best with a large playmate who is confident with people and noises. She is nervous with new people, but as long as you let her approach she’s a huge lover! Typical to the shepherd persona - she attaches at the hip to her person. In fact she likes to try to lay across my lap when I sit on the couch. She’s nervous with new things & loud sounds, but just stands behind me (or climbs behind me on the couch). She needs a heavy duty kennel of some kind. Preference given to experienced working dog parents or one who is willing to line up a trainer to help you guide her into adulthood. Dakota WANTS TO BE IN THE WATER. Her water bowl, the hose, the pool, doesn’t have to be out in the rain, but otherwise - be prepared for a wet floor, wet dog, etc…. She has a long coat, so be prepared for a ton of brushing and/or grooming bills. She has a somewhat sensitive tummy so food transitions will need to be slow!
