Description

Meet Cha Cha, aka Peanut !   Cha Cha is about 2 years old, weighs a whopping 4–5 pounds, and is the cutest little bundle of joy, sass, and snuggles . Once she decides you’re her person, she wants nothing more than to be curled up in your lap, tucked under a blanket, or snuggled under the covers with you at night. And we mean under the covers — this girl takes blanket time very seriously.    For such a tiny girl, Peanut has a BIG personality. She can be shy around people she doesn’t know and needs a little time to feel comfortable and build trust. She’s also particular about her beauty sleep! If she’s snoozing, it’s best to let her rest rather than reaching in to pet or move her, as she may give a little nip when startled or disturbed. Once she trusts you and is happily snoozing on your lap, though, she’s much more comfortable being handled. Peanut is potty trained and has done great in her foster home, with only an occasional accident if she wakes up and isn’t able to get outside right away. And speaking of outside — she LOVES the backyard! One of her favorite things is prancing around in the sunshine and soaking up the outdoors.    She also gets along great with both dogs and cats! She isn’t necessarily looking for a playmate and mostly does her own thing, but she’s perfectly happy sharing her space with other furry friends. Cha Cha has a few adorable little quirks that make her Peanut . She can be a slow and somewhat picky eater, and we’ve found that crushing up her dry food helps encourage her to eat. The biggest thing to know about Peanut is that her love is earned — and it’s so worth it. It may take her a few days or even a few weeks to fully warm up, but once she does, she picks her person and latches on . She is incredibly sweet, fiercely loyal, hilariously sassy, and absolutely adorable.   Cha Cha is looking for a forever home with someone who will give her the patience to come out of her shell, respect her boundaries, and love her for exactly who she is. In return, you’ll get one tiny, devoted best friend who just wants to spend the rest of her life by your side (preferably under a blanket). ChaCha does have a grade 2 luxating patella. She is not a candidate for surgery at this time, but a healthy diet, kept at a healthy weight, and supplements are needed for future care* Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***
