Max was brought to the shelter because his family did not feel their fast-paced lifestyle was a good fit for him as he gets up there in years. Gentle, kind, and just a little timid, Max is a true `velcro dog` who thrives on human interaction, pets, and affection. He is a low-energy companion whose ideal day involves lounging on the couch or his dog bed, though he will occasionally head outside to play with our other dog. Max gets along beautifully with almost everyone—dogs and humans alike. However, because of his timid nature, he would do best in a quiet, laid-back home free of loud excitement or chaos.Max is fully house-trained and knows basic commands like sit, lay down, come, and shake. He was crate-trained in the past, though he hasn't needed to use one in over two years. He is generally great on a leash, though he might pull a bit if he spots a squirrel to chase or a bird to stare at!They also reported that Max prefers dogs that match his energy.
