Meet Smokey!Smokey is described as an affectionate, active pup who loves walks, playtime, fetch, tug toys, car rides, and spending time with his people. He’s crate trained, reportedly housetrained/pee-pad trained, and already knows several cues including sit, stay, and come.According to his former owners, Smokey can be shy with new people and may need a little time and space to feel comfortable. Once he settles in, his former family describes him as attentive, playful, energetic, and affectionate. He would do best with adopters who understand that introductions to new people should happen at his pace and who will give him a predictable routine and plenty of appropriate outlets for his energy.Smokey has lived around other dogs, but his interactions with them were fairly limited. Because he may become uncomfortable when another dog approaches a favorite toy, careful introductions and management of any high-value items are recommended if he goes home with another dog. He also enjoys chasing birds and squirrels, so his new family should be prepared to manage that enthusiasm outdoors.And maybe our favorite thing from Smokey’s profile?
